A video production that FVM had a big part in has been rewarded with two renowned prizes, the LACP Spotlight Gold Award and the silver ITVA Award. The visual effects of the awarded video production had been made by FVM on the authority of the Reutlingen agency Lorenz & Company GmbH and the film production STARPATROL Entertainment in the name of the premium contacts producer Hecht and now got the german and american “Oscars” of company video.
Also on the “LANBall” - video, which is well known on YouTube and other video-platforms, got it’s visual effects done by FVM. That’s why the effects of the LANBall-production was the pivot point of the lecture “Fact or Fake? VFX in viral clips” by Francesco Faranna and his team in the expo “animago CONFERENCE 2009″ in Babelsberg. The annual expo brings together international animation-, vfx- and 3D-experts. To stay at the top of 3D animation and visual effects, FVM keeps constantly in touch with partner agencys, national and international studios and the producers of special software.

The ANIMAGO AWARD is a 2D/3D animation-film competition in the German-speaking area. Over 14,000 entries from animations for film and TV over commercials, shorts and industry-films up to ambitious home-productions competed within the animago so far. The award is being given over every year since 1997. The award ceremony is being held on 29 and 30 October within the animago CONFERENCE in Potsdam-Babelsberg. The animago CONFERENCE presents an attractive schedule. Besides presentations by the exhibitors – one of the Highlights will be Motion Capture – there will be workshops, masterclasses and courses held by top-notch regional and international lecturers.

On “Galileo Fakecheck”, a Show on German TV Station Pro Sieben, sep. 29th 2009, the YouTube-Video „LANball“ was exposed as a viral clip. Host Harro Füllgrabe led the viewers to the conclusion that the six goals shot in the video - which got over 100.000 clicks – were not achieved by the scorer, but were in fact composed digitally. In search for the truth the filmteam came across the film production studio STARPATROL Entertainment and in advance met the visual effect specialists of FVM.

On July 18 and 19 of 2009, the first German-speaking BlenderDay took place in Eislingen. Blender-enthusiastics from Germany, Austria and Switzerland attended the event.
Blender is an open source 3D graphics software with a constantly growing community. The participants, from young to old, which use Blender in their spare time or for commercial reasons, showed up numerously on the two-day event. The lectures, which had been presented by the participants themselves, clarified the broad application scope. The meeting was organized by the pupil company BlendVision from the “Erich Kästner Gymnasium” (High School), on which campus the BlenderDay took place. The meeting received a large extent of positive resonance by the participants, about which many already assured their coming for a possible BlenderDay/2010.
FVM productions supported the meeting with a lecture on the advantages of the post-production in 3D animation projects and explained which techniques there are on the basis of practical examples.

Starting 19 June 2009 Dominik Kuhn - creator of the viral video “Todesstern Stuttgart (Deathstar Stuttgart)” - has his own weekly column on the “SWR Landesschau” (German TV) and will be aired each Friday approx. 18:45 pm. Already from 15 June 2009 not only on SWR but also on several online videoportals you can watch the trailer for the show, reinforced by FVM productions with a 3d animation and compositing. The realisation and animation of the emblem was yet another project done by the ongoing cooperation-partners STARPATROL Entertainment and FVM productions.
